Art Deco

Mr Bond has always had a liking of the geometric patterns and mathematical order of Art Deco. Perhaps it’s his technical training as a professional engineer or simply an eye for clean lines, the symmetry and the sights of the Twenties. Or maybe it’s those flapper dresses and long ropes of pearls worn by young ladies being danced off their feet to the sounds of the jazz age in the high class clubs of the West End.

The more daring colours of the roaring Twenties, coupled with improved stone cutting techniques opened up a wider range of fashion and jewellery to suit. From the bespoke high quality platinum and diamond pieces to adorn the debutant – to the increased availability of costume pieces, with coloured stones and white metal.

It’s a style loved at Boggitt and Bond – jazz, cocktails and diamonds – quite a combination…..
